We are finally settling in to our new place in Madison. I started my new job last week and like it a lot so far. Here are pictures of the new place and such. We are much more moved in than these pictures show...

Moving to Madison, WI

Walter and I successfully found a condo to rent in Madison last weekend. At least now we won't be homeless. I just need to find a job. I'll try to post pictures of the new place soon.

I'm finally used to writing '08

It took pretty much a whole month to get into the groove of writing the schnazie new 2008 at the end of all my dates. It's not quite as convenient, since 8's have more curves that 7's, but I'm getting speedy.

There's never anything too exciting in the Bend to report. We're currently waiting to hear from PhD programs that Walter applied to last fall. We're also trying to train Stella for cat olympics. She's excellent at catching bouncy balls. Today I tried to get a good photo of her in the air, but she's to quick for the camera. I think the right pose would make a great greeting card. I plan to sell it for loads of money, or just start my own line of cards. Now that would be brilliant.

Well, happy Fat Tuesday. I plan to eat at least 3 paczkis today.

Here is the newest edition to they family... Stella. She's 6 months old and Lucy new best friend. They tackle each other and wrestle around all day long(all night long too sometimes). Stella is one of those cats who sleeps right next to your head and purrs all night long so you keep waking up. She also likes to play in and drink the water that drips in the sink or shower.

Only 3 trick-or-treaters...

Apparently there aren't as many children in this neighborhood as I thought. All we got were three kids who didn't even knock at our door! I had to yell at them from accross the courtyard, "I have candy too!" I'm sure that didn't look suspicious. I made each of them take 2 pieces of candy, though had I known they'd be the only ones all night, I should've had them take the entire bowl. Now it's November and we have a huge bowl of Halloween candy just begging to be eaten. At least we're having some weekend visitors who will be ordered to eat candy....

A new month, a new apartment, and a new Lucy?

We've been in our new apartment for a month now, and I think Lucy is settling in. She has taken over the stairs as her personal domain, sleeping and playing on them as she pleases. Mostly, she sleeps though the night, or at least plays in other places besides under the bed. Isn't she cute?

Thumb Tragedy

Last Saturday, Walter had an onion chopping accident and almost gave himself a thumbectomy. He only got 2 stitches, but protected the injured nail with this fluffy bandage for a few days.

... but not for me. Walter started his 'learn how to teach in one week' seminar and I continue to work, work, work. We do have a nice quick trip weekend planned up to TC though.
